Expected to include the ever-evolving DC movie slate soon blue ladybug, a live action movie that will bring the story of Jaime Reyes (Xolo Maridueña) to the big screen. While we’re still more than a year away from the film’s debut, fans of the character seem to be totally excited about it, after the first photos and videos from the film’s set debuted with great fanfare earlier this summer. In particular, there was a lot of excitement about the film’s practical Blue Beetle costume – and a newly released video offers a look at it. The video, which you can check out below, appears to show Jaime in a costume hanging on wires above a group of government agents, trying to talk to them.

“All I can think about is how exciting it would be,” Maridueña previously said of wearing the outfit. “It’s going to touch on a lot of things that haven’t been touched upon before in superhero movies… I haven’t had a chance to wear a suit yet or anything like that. Once that happens, I’m going to feel real.”
The blue ladybug The film will follow Jaime, who in the comics is a teenage superhero from El Paso, Texas who has fused with an alien scarab and gains superpowers. He is the third character to assume the role of the Blue Beetle after the death of Ted Kord. The cast will also include Susan Sarandon as Victoria Cord, Bruna Marquezine as Penny, Bellissa Escobedo, Jorge Lopez, Adriana Barrazza, Elipedia Carrillo and Damien Alcazar as members of the Jaime family, and Harvey Gillen in a currently unknown role.
Created by Keith Geffen, John Rogers, and Cole Hamner, the Jaime period dramatically changed the Blue Beetle tradition, revealing that the Egyptian powers-giving scarab was actually alien in origin, and introduced a kind of extraterrestrial suit of armor. Ultimately, Jaime went on to serve as a member of the Justice League, International Justice League, Teen Titans, Youth Justice, and Secret Six.
“This is really going to be a stepping stone in my life,” Maridueña shared in an interview earlier this year. “I have had the opportunity to build chemistry with these people over the years Cobra Kai. It would be hard to try to recreate that chemistry in a much shorter amount of time, but all of these guys are professionals. I know I’m in the hands of people who are the best at what they do. opportunity in Cobra Kai You have really blessed me. I can do stunts, we can do crazy things. The addition of this new level of green screen, suits, CGI and all of that is going to add a whole new crazy level to it and I’m really excited about it.”
